Interview with Ze Mime : Ze Astronaut

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Q 1 : Ze astronaut is a metaphor for the mime’s place in space. Could you rant on about that ?

A nihilist rereading of 2001 Space Odissey. Space in itself is a vacuum, for it is empty. Therefore, the mime is in its right place since the absence of space gives the mime an incredible grasp on the whole universe. It’s as if the mime became God facing the infinite void to fill up. The double existentialist image of the Man and his possibly failed evolution, in the art of mime.

Q2 : What had you eaten prior to acting the fart skit ?

Believe it or not, nothing in particular. My acting background, mostly my ‘Strasberg’ years gave me the necessary tools to act bowels dysfunctions, I simply applied the Sensorial Memory method.

Q3 : A petition was going around in which they were begging us to abandon you in space. Did it affect your capacity to act ?

I never read trash magazines. It would be the same as trying to read into my toilet paper.

Q4 : Your beret has been seen flotting above the Kremlin. What happened ?

Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! This is an old story that quite ressembles the one of the ‘Sasquatch’ or ‘Nessie’s’. I will not deny any of it !

Q5 : When you made your comeback, you proclaimed that « God is everywhere, so is the Mime ». Is that true ?

I strongly believe there are in everybody’s heart: A disappointed dreamer, a ‘much awaited for’ magician, a sad clown, a broken contortionnist, an injured acrobat, a handicapped bull rider and an illiterate mime.

Interview with Ze Mime : Ze Time Machine

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Q1 : Ze time machine is a metaphor for the mime’s place in time. Can you rant on about that ?

Ze time machine is a representation of how we are responsible for working a bit more every single day to build up our own death.

Q2 : Could you go on a bit more ?

No !

Q3 : Complete the following : Jules Verne, Michael J. Fox, Sandra Bellucci and …

Didierzemime. Same phantasmagoria, same height, same breasts and last but not least, himself.

Interview with Ze Mime : Ze Ski Jump

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Q1: Ze Ski Jump is a metaphor for freedom. Would you care to explain?

It is at first… but where does freedom begin? Where does is truly end? The way I see it, it’s when we talk about euthanasia. Is it possible to chose your own time to die and yet to be able to really appreciate it?

Q2: Hard fuel is on the verge of being considered an illegal drug. Do you feel threaten by such regulation?

Ha! Ha! I’m glad we are finally opening that Pandora’s box.

Q3: During a ceremony in honor of your Grand-Mommime, you literally ate the medal you’ve been given. What was this all about?

You are incredibly well informed… Yes, it is a bet that I had previously made with my mother. My grandma has compulsive tendencies. I knew it would have a calming effect on her. Unfortunately, I choked on the medal and we ended up spending the night in the E.R. I guess I’ll have to find something else to calm down Grand-Mommime.

Interview with Ze Mime : Ze Hold-up

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Q1 : Ze Hold-up is a metaphor for the Mime’s personnal finances after the Christmas holidays. Would you care to rant on about that ?

Ze hold-up is a warning that symbolizes the protests of every artist that practices the undervalued arts (dance, clown, buffoon, magician, cabaret singer, harmonist). Those artists are always asking for more, but why exactly ?

Q2 : If I tell you « Gentlemime, the burlgar », what does it say to you?

Really ? It is clearly a euphemism (see dictionary : a euphemism, from the greek word « euphemismos » is a stylistic device that mostly consists in toning down or softening an unpleasant phrase by using a litote or a periphrasis.

Q3 : What would you tell teenagers on the brink of robbing a bank ?

I would tell them : « I know you probably don’t have time to do so, but think it over. Is that truly the life you want for yourself ? »
